JhUpdates’ Commitment to Accuracy, Corrections, and Updates
JhUpdates is dedicated to providing its audience with accurate and comprehensive news reports. We prioritize promptly addressing and correcting any errors in the material published on our platform. Whether through a correction, clarification, or an editor’s note shared on our website and social media, our goal is to clearly and quickly communicate what was incorrect and what has been corrected. This ensures transparency and helps readers understand how and why a mistake has been rectified.
Updating a Report
When a story is updated, we make it a practice to include a note indicating the update. Significant corrections, clarifications, or additions of stakeholder comments or updates are always noted to keep readers informed of the changes.
Corrections
If we identify a substantial error in an article, headline, photo caption, graphic, video, or other material, we promptly issue a correction. The correction explicitly explains the reason for the change to ensure full transparency.
Clarifications
In cases where our reporting is factually accurate but the language used could be clearer or more detailed, we rewrite the content and include a clarification. Clarifications are also added if we initially failed to include a stakeholder’s comment or response, or if new reporting shifts the account of an event.
Editor’s Notes
When an error raises questions about the core substance of an article or presents a significant ethical concern, an Editor’s Note may be required. These notes provide an explanation of the issue and are approved by a senior editor to ensure accountability and trust.
Other Corrections Policies
- If a reader identifies an error through the comment stream, our community engagement team acknowledges the correction in the comments.
- For errors on social media, we correct the information directly on the platform. If editing is not possible, we retract the incorrect content.
- We do not attribute blame to individual reporters or editors (e.g., “due to a reporting error”).
- If you believe a published story is inaccurate, please contact our editorial team at jhupdates.in or use the “Suggest a Correction” section at the end of every web story.
Take-Down Requests
As a matter of editorial policy, we do not entertain take-down requests. If a subject claims a story is inaccurate, we will investigate and, if necessary, issue a correction. If fairness requires an update or follow-up to previous coverage, we will publish the update but will not remove the article as though it was never published.
For publicly available personal data, we consider take-down requests only if the subject is under a credible threat of physical harm as a result of the material.
